Legal
Terms of Service
Effective May 9, 2026
These Terms of Service govern your use of Privara. We've written them in plain English so you can actually understand what you're agreeing to. The legal version is no more or less binding than this one.
By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
01
About these terms
These Terms ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you ("you") and Privara ("Privara," "we," or "us"). They cover your use of privaraprivacy.com and any related apps, dashboards, or APIs (together, the "Service").
The Privacy Policy is incorporated by reference and is part of these Terms.
02
The service
Privara helps individuals — primarily public-facing professionals — remove their personal information (names, addresses, phones, family details) from data broker websites, breach databases, and search engine results. We do this through a combination of automated submissions and human review.
The Service includes the website, the customer dashboard, scan reports, removal automation, screenshots, and email notifications.
03
Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. By creating an account, you represent that you are at least 18 and that the information you provide is accurate and belongs to you (or to someone on whose behalf you have the legal right to act, such as a family member who has authorized you to manage their privacy).
04
Your account
You're responsible for keeping your account credentials safe and for all activity that happens under your account. If you suspect unauthorized access, email us at info@privaraprivacy.com immediately.
You can have one account per person. Brokerage and team accounts are handled separately and are subject to the additional terms in your Order Form.
05
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Submit information about another person without their authorization
- Use the Service to harass, dox, or stalk anyone
- Interfere with the Service's operation, scrape it at volume, or attempt to access accounts that aren't yours
- Use the Service to evade lawful obligations (e.g., to hide from a legal process server)
- Resell or sublicense the Service without our written consent
- Reverse-engineer the Service except as permitted by law
06
Information you give us
The Service only works if the information you give us is accurate. If you provide incorrect or incomplete information, removal requests may fail and we cannot guarantee results.
You grant Privara a limited license to use the information you provide for the sole purpose of operating the Service on your behalf — including submitting it to data brokers and other third parties as described in the Privacy Policy.
07
Subscription, billing, and refunds
The Service is offered on a subscription basis. Pricing is shown on /pricing and may change for new subscriptions; existing subscribers will be notified before any price increase takes effect.
Payments are processed by Stripe. By starting a subscription, you authorize Privara (via Stripe) to charge your payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel.
You can cancel anytime from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period; we don't pro-rate refunds for partial periods. We do offer a full refund within 7 days of your first subscription payment, no questions asked, if you email us at info@privaraprivacy.com.
08
What we promise (and don't)
We promise to:
- Make a good-faith effort to find and remove your data from data brokers we cover
- Show you the work — every broker checked, every request submitted, every screenshot
- Re-scan you on the schedule promised in your plan
- Notify you when something material changes
- Operate the Service securely and respect your privacy
We cannot promise:
- That you'll be removed from every site on the internet — new brokers appear, brokers re-list, and some sites refuse legitimate opt-out requests
- That a broker we've removed you from won't re-list you later (we re-scan to catch this, but we can't prevent it)
- Specific outcomes for any single broker — we describe our methods on the website, but the success rate of any individual removal depends on the broker's policies
The Service is best-effort. If you need a court-ordered guarantee of erasure, you need a lawyer, not a SaaS subscription.
09
Termination
You can cancel your account anytime. We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms (especially the Acceptable Use section), with or without notice depending on severity. We'll refund any prepaid amounts for unused service if we terminate without cause.
10
Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, Privara disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that defects will be corrected immediately.
11
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Privara's total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid Privara in the twelve months before the claim arose, or (b) one hundred US dollars ($100).
We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, even if we've been advised of the possibility of such damages. This includes lost profits, lost data, or harm arising from the actions of third parties (such as data brokers re-listing you).
12
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold Privara harmless from any claim arising out of (a) your violation of these Terms, (b) information you provided that wasn't accurate or that you didn't have the right to provide, or (c) your use of the Service in a way that violates any law.
13
Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.
We'd much rather solve any dispute by talking to each other than by going to court. If you have a problem, email info@privaraprivacy.com and give us 30 days to make it right. If we can't resolve it, either party may bring a claim in the state or federal courts located in California, and both parties consent to jurisdiction there.
14
Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms occasionally. When we make material changes, we'll update the Effective date at the top and notify active users by email. Continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
